Street Photography with an iPhone

There is a quiet war on the streets about what kind of camera you are using to capture your photos.  For some photographers, it is a fancy DSLR camera, complete with a variety of lens and a snazzy camera bag. For others, it is the ubiquitous iPhone, or some other device that slides in and out of your pocket.

Who wins?  I know in my previous article, 7 Reasons Why the iPhone 6 is My Camera of Choice, I was very clear on my preference of cameras.  But, I thought of putting personal bias aside and discovering if there is more to this DSLR and smartphone issue than meets the eye?  As a street photographer, I am always trying to improve my craft.  I feel it is time for me to take a look at this camera war a bit more seriously and weigh out the pros and cons of each camera type.

I quickly discovered that for kicking around on the beach, or for above water activities, the GoPro Head Strap Mount really works well.  But for diving, it was never going to work. You simply cannot have goggles and a camera mount on your head at the same time.  As you can see from this featured article photo, I don’t have that much space on my head!

My 7 Favourite iPhone Photo Apps

A funny thing, isn’t? Do you find it hard admitting that you, as a photographer, are just in love with taking pictures with your camera phone? I think the term is, iPhoneographer, at least for those of us who are iPhone users. Much to the dismay of regular photographers, we do have a name.

I just love my iPhone! I am not promoting Apple products, nor am I on their pay roster (but maybe I should be),  I simply just love my iPhone.
